What I do
As Director of Membership and Learning, I shape our learning strategy, build collaboration and champion the role of community foundations in driving lasting local change. My focus is on ensuring our members are equipped, connected and confident to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. I also work closely with peers across the global community foundation network, sharing learning and insights to grow our collective impact.
About me
I’ve spent my career working alongside community leaders and grassroots organisations. Before joining UKCF, I led the membership team at Locality, supporting community organisations across England with tools, networks and advice. Earlier in my career, I founded a community business that’s still going strong today, and worked on community development programmes in East and West Africa. I’m at my best when strategic thinking and lived experience come together, connecting ideas with action and people with possibility.
Outside of work
I’m passionate about local resilience and reimagining the future through community. I’m active in my local Transition Town group, and spend as much time as I can outdoors, growing food, foraging or walking in the Derbyshire Dales. I find inspiration in big ideas, slow living and time spent in nature, and I practise meditation as a way to stay grounded and open to what’s next.
