Royal London is the largest mutual life, pensions and Investment Company in the UK, with Group funds under management of £84.5 billion. Group businesses provide around 9.1 million policies and employ 2,988 people (figures quoted at 31 December 2015). Founded as a Friendly Society in a London coffee shop in 1861, Royal London started out with the aim to help people avoid the stigma of a pauper’s grave. Since then they have been helping people help themselves and are committed to delivering the best value for customers and putting members first.
ROYAL LONDON FOUNDATION – HELPING MEMBERS MAKE A LOCAL DIFFERENCE
To celebrate Royal London’s 150th anniversary, they wanted to make a difference in the communities where their members live. Royal London Members were offered the opportunity to nominate local community groups to receive an award of £5,000 to further their charitable objectives. Eligible groups have been invited to fill out a full application form. Awards will be announced in August 2017.
ROYAL LONDON CHARITY PARTNERS
Royal London believe it’s important for businesses to support their local communities. In 2016, their Community Engagement programme moved to a local approach, where each office chose a local charity partner. UK Community Foundations and Community Foundations helped Royal London assess charity partners which were nominated by their staff.
