Hinkley Point C grants now available
The Hinkley Point C Community Fund Small Grants Programme, managed by Somerset Community Foundation, is now open to applications from charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises.
Organisations with an annual income of less than £100,000 are encouraged to apply by the deadline of Friday 2nd March. Successful applicants will receive grants of up to £5,000 for projects aiming to mitigate impacts from the construction of Hinkley Point C. Projects that seek to help communities benefit from the positive opportunities offered by the development at Hinkley Point C are also encouraged.
Grants can be applied for at any time as the Small Grants Awards Panel meet regularly to look at applications.
Val Bishop, Programmes Director for the HPC Funds at Somerset Community Foundation, said: “We encourage grant applications from smaller organisations as we recognise the vital role they play in communities. When applying for funding, your group should be able to clearly evidence the effect Hinkley Point C has had, or is having, on your community, or how you are maximising the opportunities offered by the project.
“Schemes should be designed to either remove or reduce the impact, or boost benefits and improve community quality of life and well-being. We are keen to support you in making your application, so please do get in touch if you need any help and advice.”
